EpicGear switches review

EpicGear is a brand that is mainly targeted againts gaming keyboards and accesories. On their webpage, you can find keyboards like the "Dezimator" and other accessories. Their keyboards are flashy and is clearly made appealing to gamers. This may be the keyboard that matches the theme of their battelstation.
Fortunately, it is not this keyboard I am going to write about in this review. Instead, they have some switches that they are really proud of. Let's take a look.

The switches are currently only being used in their own boards, and has therefore got very little attention from the community. The switches are supposedly made by Kailhua Electronics, the same producent as the controversial Kailh switch found in many budget boards.

What first caught my attention, were the colors. Purple, Orange and Gray. These colors are awesome. Especially the purple, looking at you Zeal. Another thing they mention, is that they have reduced the distance to the actuation point by 1.5mm.

EG Grey
Actuation force: 55g, bottoms out at 1-2g more.
4mm total travel
Actuation Point: between 1,5mm and 1,7mm.
This one is the linear one. While it is definetily more scratchy than Gateron linears, i found it more pleasing to use than the Cherry and Kailh counterparts(Cherry MX red / Kailh red) because of the consistency. No obstructions, just plain and linear. The scratch depends on the angle you type. If you strain the sliders, it will be a more significant uneveness.

EG Purple
Actuation force: 56g, bottoms out at 1g more.
4mm total travel
Actuation Point: between 1,5mm and 1,7mm.
This switch is interesting. It is different from the Cherry MX blues and Gateron Blues because of the click. It is less pronounced. Its more quiet. Feels like Cherry MX blues just slightly less noticable click. They feel great, and they are definetily quieter than Gateron Blues for typing. In this switch, i can't feel any significant scratching at all. I find it very easy to doubletap the keys with this switch.

EG Orange

Actuation force: 56g, bottoms out at 1g more.
4mm total travel
Actuation Point: between 1,5mm and 1,7mm.

This is not the ergo clear(MX clear switch modified with 62g springs) you have hoped for. It is defientily their MX browns competitior. They are smooth until the bump is done, were the scratching begins. The switch feels more pronounced than any other MX brown. It's like a tired ergo clear and very hard to describe. I tried to put in a 62g spring to see if it resembled an ergo clear switch by any chance, unfortunately, it is not, the tactile bump actually got reduced after changing the spring.

The switches are designed by EpicGear in Taiwan and manufactured in Mainland China.

Quality

EpicGear claims the switch to survive 70-million keystrokes. They also claim that the contacts are is 30ยต gold plated.
The consistency between all the 60 switches i got was good. No issues with inconsistency. This is very different from my Kailh experience. I haven't got confirmed that these are made by Kaihua, but if they are, it seems like EpicGear has gotten some extra QC. At least for the samples i got.

Expect some switchtester kits to be up on my store soon!

Did i miss something? Tell me, and i will try to answer the best i can.

English isn't my first language, please keep this in mind.
